Mrs. Barnett
Katy Barnett started at PCCS in 2004 because of her interest in the school’s mission, size, and PCCS’ close knit community. Teaching is Mrs. Barnett’s second career. She started off as a music therapist working in a psychosocial rehabilitation center.
PCCS’ environmental focus allows Mrs. Barnett to share her love of nature with the kids and use it as a tool when teaching different academics. Having the natural outdoor classroom allows for students to interact with nature in a way that they might not have an opportunity to do so elsewhere. Her favorite quote is “Be the Change That You Wish to See in the World” by Ghandi, which is a goal she tries to instill in her students. An interesting fact about Mrs. Barnett is that she once traveled to Korea to compete in an international TaeKwonDo tournament.
