” Our girls almost didn’t get the wonderful opportunity of going here because we believed there would be no openings. We can’t say enough good things about the school, the teachers, the staff and even the other students. Both our girls are thriving here, and we feel so blessed. I encourage you to enroll and hopefully you’ll be as lucky as we feel. “

Lottery/Wait List Information and Lottery Registration Information

Lottery Process
When PCCS has more applicants than seats available, State law mandates that there must be a lottery registration process. Our lottery is nonexclusive, non-discriminatory and open to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religious preference or disability process where all students who live in Districts 50 and 79 are welcome to apply. Legal residency must be established as of the day of the lottery for an applicant to be included in the lottery process.  Eligibility for Out-of-district students will only be available after all in-district student applications have been placed during the lottery process.

Families are welcome to complete registration forms for their child at any time throughout the year in order to be included on the wait list. See below for the wait list registration forms. Families interested in submitting an after-lottery registration form for their child(ren) should see Wait Lists (below) for more information.

Siblings
Sibling preference is given to any sibling of an already enrolled student. If there is not an available seat in the grade level that the sibling is entering they will be number one on the wait list or be below any sibling already established on the wait list until an open seat becomes available. Kindergarten siblings names will be pulled in the lottery process to establish the number of seats that will be available to new Kindergarten families applying after we have fulfilled the sibling preference commitment.

Open Houses
We are offering two Open House opportunity for interested families to learn more about the school. We have several teachers and administrators at the Open House to talk about the school and give you a day in the life of what students experience. There will be a presentation and introductions of Administration and grade band teachers. This year’s Open Houses will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 7:00 pm and Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 7:00 pm. The Open Houses will be held on campus in the Byron Colby Barn, 1561 Jones Point Rd, Grayslake, Il. 60030

Wait Lists
After the lottery takes place in March, our wait list is established for the upcoming school year. As grade level openings become available we call the families on the wait list starting at number one.  The wait list can be very fluid; we encourage families to stay open to the possibility of moving your child mid-year if that opportunity should become available. If you have missed the lottery process and would like to place your child’s name on the wait list, no problem at all.

Registration forms are accepted after the Lottery drawing.  Students will be placed on the wait list based on the following priority: siblings of returning/current students, in-district applicants and then out-of-district applicants. The student wait list is maintained and updated as changes are made for the current school year and the next school year after the March drawing.  Please be sure to check the correct list to determine your child’s placement on the wait list.
