Emily Summers is excited to be joining PCCS for the 2021-2022 school year.  Mrs. Summers graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and further attended Concordia University in River Forest, IL where she received her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an ELL endorsement. Prior to PCCS, she held positions as both a 2nd and 3rd Grade Teacher.  Mrs. Summers took some time away from teaching to raise her two amazing daughters and was drawn back to the classroom by PCCS’s mission to provide an academic experience that emphasizes the importance of nature and community.  Mrs. Summers believes in teaching children to love the earth before asking them to fix it and hopes to leverage the beauty of the world around us to create lasting impressions on our leaders of tomorrow.

Mrs. Summers loves to travel and recent adventures to Hawaii reminded her of the greatness of natural phenomena around us and how so much can be learned from studying them. She tries her best to reduce her carbon footprint by making environmentally conscious decisions, including her choice at a very early age to be a vegetarian.  She enjoys reading, running, and being with her family.
