Jana Paulsen started at PCCS in 2026 with a desire to create musicianship, make memories in the music classroom, and help students discover the best version of themselves. She graduated from Carthage College in Cum Laude B.M. of Music Education. She is looking to expand her studies into a Masters of Music Education program in the future. Her primary instruments are Clarinet and Saxophone.

She has also been a part of the Carthage Athletics Media Team from 2023-2026 as one of the head photographers. Jana has had the pleasure to serve as Drum Major/Conductor for The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2024 and 2025, making her one of the first female drum majors to make finals in the Madison Scouts history in 2024.

Outside of music, she is also a local photographer, loves home improvement projects, and hanging out with her friends, family and her dog, Lucy. Her favorite musicians range from the Beatles and Michael Jackson to Vulfpeck and Kendrick Lamar.
