Mr. Wilkes

In the beginning, Mr. Wilkes was a musician. Performing classical, jazz, and contemporary chamber music, he received his Bachelors of Music and Masters in Education from San Jose State University. He has taught 5th and 6th grade school year classrooms and 7th and 8th grade summer school math in Los Altos, CA.
As an educator, Mr. Wilkes likes to connect with students and use music and popular culture to bring learning to life. He is excited about applied learning, cross-curricular connection, and real world context. He wrote his Master’s Thesis on aspects of Social Emotional Learning in elementary classrooms and is an advocate for Care Ethics.
Mr. Wilkes relocated to Illinois in 2020, settling in Grayslake in 2022. He is so excited to be joining the PCCS team!
