Mr. Hershiser
Chris Hershiser started at PCCS in 2003. He was quickly enamored with the school’s mission and overarching philosophy as well as the idea of integrating core subject areas with the environment. Mr. Hershiser has a bachelors of science in ecological assessment from the University of Findlay and a masters degree in integrated education from Antioch University in New England. He has 12 years teaching in a classroom and 5 years of experience teaching Environmental Education. Mr. Hershiser has earned the The Center for Green School Trailblazing Teacher Award in 2013 and most recently was honored with the 2014 Teacher of the Year: K-8 from the Soils & Water Conservation District.
Nature infuses all that he does and has been a close companion ever since Mr. Hershiser was young. He tries to bring this desire to be outside and to embrace the natural world here at PCCS. The one thing he likes most about PCCS is the camping trips. Mr. Hershiser’s favorite childhood book is the Ender’s Game.
