The Kindergarten held their second Family Night this last Wednesday – Family Literacy Night. This night gave a glimpse of what reading workshop time looks like at the Kindergarten level and introduced the families to three of the options that are available to the students to participate during their reading time. The three options they explored were Work on Writing (where the families listened to a story and had to respond to it in writing), Read to Someone (where the families read books to each other), and Word Work (which introduced the families to different games they could play with their student to learn sight words). It was great to see so many families there and to see all the fun they had!
