Ms. Johnson
Tricia Johnson began working at PCCS in 2003, as she was drawn to the school’s philosophies. Besides respecting the environment, PCCS values student-centered instruction in which students problem solve and reflect on their experiences. Ms. Johnson received her a BA in Elementary Education from Purdue University. Her past life experiences coincide with Prairie Crossing’s environmental mission.
Ms. Johnson feels that outdoor learning can help make core subjects rich, relevant and exciting for children. It also motivates her to bring more innovative teaching strategies to her lessons. What she likes most about PCCS is that there is always an opportunity waiting around the corner. Since teaching at PCCS, Ms. Johnson has learned to embrace insects. One thing you may not know about Ms. Johnson is that she is a strong supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
