Josh Flood started at PCCS in 2016 as the 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies teacher. He came to PCCS, looking for a new opportunity for growth as a teacher in a less traditional school setting. His goal was to find a school that had the drive to help students make a difference in the world, and the mission at PCCS is to quite literally do exactly that. From 2007-2012,  Mr. Flood had worked at Stevenson High School as a teaching assistant in Special Education and a World History instructor. For three years beginning 2012, he instructed Humanities at Percy Julian Middle School in Oak Park.  Mr. Flood spent his early childhood years in Chicago but moved out to Long Grove beginning in the first grade. He lived in an isolated, but wooded area surrounded by farms ripe for exploration. Mr. Flood’s entire upbringing was around nature, growth, and discovery and he believes that will guide many of his teaching goals at PCCS.  An interesting thing about Mr. Flood that people don’t know is that he has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has instructed Self Defense. His favorite book is The Lost World by Michael Crichton. His grandmother wanted him to read more and purchased it for him. It captured his imagination and encouraged him to explore outside.
