Marnie McKee started at PCCS in 2014 because she was very interested in the environmental and conservation aspect of Prairie Crossing, and is a strong supporter of outdoor education. She thinks it’s important for children to value nature and understand how people impact the environment, and Prairie Crossing is the perfect setting to teach these values. She taught preschool for many years while raising her children. Mrs. McKee earned her master’s degree in special education with an early childhood focus from National Louis University.
She loves the outdoors! In fact, Mrs. McKee’s hobbies revolve around the outdoors. She likes how there are many opportunities to be outside throughout the day at PCCS. Mrs. McKee has two favorite quotes: ” Always be a little kinder than necessary” and “Live simply, care deeply, and love generously.” Her favorite childhood book was any book by Bill Peet. He has great morals to his stories, and explains them mostly through the eyes of animals.
