We will be doing sort 19. There is a picture of this sort on Google Classroom. Please remind your child to study for the test on Friday. I do recommend that you have your child study the words beyond the daily lessons.
The students finished Chocolate Touch and completed (or almost completed) a timeline of important events in the book. Next week the students will do reading groups using stories sent home in the nature bag.
The students spend many days revising their narrative stories. Next week they will publish their stories. Then we will begin Unit 2 about Informational writing. Students will be working on organizing their ideas before they start writing.
The students spent time graphing and solving multiplication problems. Some of the problems the students solved involved multiple steps and many equations. They also took their Unit 3 assessment on Friday. Unit 3 is about rounding, addition, and subtraction.
Science and Social Studies
The students spent time mapping Illinois last week. We labeled many rivers, cities, and the border states. Next week we will begin learning more about Illinois by studying glaciers, nonrenewable resources, renewable resources, and crops in Illinois.
In third grade, parent-teacher conferences are student attended. When you sign up for a time please choose a time that you and your child are available. I will be doing conferences via Zoom.
