Ms. Hahn’s Newsletter

November 1, 2020

Spelling

We will be doing sort 18. There is a picture of this sort on Google Classroom. Please remind your child to study for the test on Friday. I do recommend that you have your child study the words beyond the daily lessons.

Reading

The students have finished reading Chocolate Touch. I think many students were surprised that John turned his mom to chocolate. This week we will finish the comprehension questions and do a short book project about the book.

Writing

The students have started a second narrative story this past week. The students worked on adding to the “heart of the story” and revising as they write. Next week the students will put the final touches on the story.

Math

This past week students worked on graphing.  They created bar graphs and picture graphs where one picture represented more than one item. This week we will wrap up Unit 2. Unit 3 is about rounding, addition, and subtraction.

Science and Social Studies

The students learned more about maps. The students created a map of a room in their home or learning space. They reviewed the continents and oceans. Naomi taught the class about the water cycle.

Material Pick Up

I will update the document on Google classroom with items to return on Friday.
