Hello!
We are getting closer to the end of the school year, can’t believe how quickly it is coming up. However, we are still focused on teaching and learning, so here’s a glimpse of some of the things we did this past week.
In PE we played softball outside. I don’t have any photos because I was playing too. The kids have played boomwhackers in music and have finished their pinch pots in art (at least step one).
We finished the motion unit in science. The kids had a lot of fun building and rebuilding carts to match provided criteria.
ABC countdown has started. “A” was Appreciation day and the kids walked around and wrote nice things about each other on their backs. They love this activity. “B” was baby picture day and we guessed who was who. I’m pretty sure everyone was able to guess mine, but that’s what happens when yours is the only one in black and white!
On Friday we went on a field trip to the Waukegan Library to partner with a group of 2nd graders from a local school. Our kids did a great job helping the younger kids learn all about space.
I think that’s about it for the week, of course, the kids are writing and reading too. I didn’t take any photos of that because I’m generally in the trenches helping the kids out. I was happy, however, to see traditional multiplication make an appearance this week.
Before I sign-off though I wanted to share a picture of Makenzi wearing the most adorable outfit the other day. She looked like a rainbow from head to toe. We even had her hold on to Jade’s notebook that has rainbow colors on it. It was impossible not to smile when you looked at her! I would love to walk into the gym wearing those clothes, but sadly they don’t come in my size.
Have a great week!
