Mrs. Steinbeck’s Weekly Review

Let’s jump right in. This week in PE the kids had one day when they played hula-hoop games, then they played broom ball, and finally scooter hockey. Here are a few photos:

During recess the kids are still running an amusement park, that game really has legs.

In science we have continued the light unit. We brought out the flashlights and learned about the terms transparent, translucent, and opaque. Ask your student what they each mean. We also met with Ms. Naomi one afternoon to talk about how light impacts the timing of tree leaves changing colors. The kids filled out a graph with some of the information she shared.

Wednesday was Farm to Table. Everyone enjoyed the food, but a highlight was a little sample of some ice cream. The reason we had the ice cream was because of Ben and Luke in our class. They had to do some research regarding ice cream for a question on a math worksheet. They happened to ask Mr. Deigan what type of ice cream he liked, and just like that we all got to enjoy some. We are very proud of Ben and Luke. They made a great poster to display at Farm to Table as well.

Well, that is it for now. Have a great short week and a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
