Remind App
If you have not signed up for Remind click the link- https://www.remind.com/join/aad4fk. This is a quick way to get a message to you or for you to get a message to me. This is used for time-sensitive messages. Parents have sent me messages when their child needs help in a breakout room. They also have asked what assignments the children should be working on during asynchronous learning. We have used this to remind students to log back onto Zoom.
Reading
Our reading focus for the next few weeks will be reading Chocolate Touch. We will be learning vocabulary words and be answering questions about the book. Your child needs to participate in reading daily or watch the lesson later to not fall behind.
Writing
Students have spent time writing personal narratives. The students worked on telling stories in a storytelling voice, using a news reporter voice. The students will continue to work on narrative writing this week.
Math
This past week students solved problems with stamps and multiplication. This week the students will continue to solve a variety of multiplication story problems. One way to help your child learn multiplication is to practice skip counting by a variety of numbers like 3’s, 4’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s, and 9’s.
Science and Nature
The week focused on learning more about the wetlands. Students have started researching a wetland animal and began filling out a Google Slideshow about the wetland animal. This week we will finish up our animal slideshow and our wetland unit.
