Week 22

What a chilly week! We are so excited to have finally finished our “winter count” project. The students worked hard during both writing and Social Studies time on their small group project. They wrote an informational text about their tribe, created a “winter count”, and planned a presentation. It was wonderful to see the students working together, problem solving, and showing their excitement towards this assignment! They even practiced how they will be presenting on Tuesday. I am really looking forward to seeing what they have been working so hard on.

Next week will be Peace Week. We will have a short assembly on Tuesday morning and will incorporate activities during class throughout the week. It will be great to have classroom discussions about peace and what it means to each one of us. The 4th graders will start a new math unit next week: fractions! Many of the 4th graders are excited about this new skill, and are anxious to start. Our grade-level Spelling Bee will take place on Wednesday the 18th! Good luck to the third and fourth graders!

Enjoy your long weekend and stay warm!
