2015 is zooming by! Only a week to go before winter break. As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child is adequately dressed- snow pants, boots, gloves, hats, scarves and coats. It gets cold outside at recess and some students only have a sweater to wear outside and as it gets colder, this will not be enough! I also recommend that students keep a change of clothes in their locker in case one set gets muddy or wet from snow/rain. If students aren’t dressed appropriately, they will not be able to go outside for recess and will need to remain in the office.
Our class is participating in Secret Snowman this year. We have each drawn names and have gotten a list of likes and dislikes for our “snowman”. Our gift exchange will be on Thursday December 17. Please bring in your $10-$15 gift by then. You may bring them in early and give them to Ms. Stefans or Ms Bonicontro to hold until the 17th.
After weeks of researching, we have officially started our dinosaur research paper! Students were given a rubric (on Google Docs) to follow along and guide them in writing their paper. The first rough draft is due Monday December, 14th. Students have had two class periods to work on it already so there shouldn’t be too much to do over the weekend.
Important dates and upcoming events:
- The outreach team is collecting cookies and/or store bought candy for service men and women. If you wish to contribute, please sign up here: military cookie drive.
- The office is doing a collection drive for “Toys for Tots”. If you wish to drop off a new and unwrapped toy, there is a collection bin in the front office. Alternatively, if you wish to send a toy in with your child, we will be sure to get them to the office

- December 16 at 1:00 pm– early dismissal day
- December 16 at 7:00 pm– Band concert after school
- December 17 at 9:00 am– Holiday Sing! assembly
- December 17– Secret Snowman (gift exchange)
