Turner Tribune 3/9/18

Happy Friday,

First, thank you to everyone who attended conferences this week. It is always a joy to celebrate your child’s achievements together! Also,  thank you to all who sent food items for the staff lunch/dinner Thursday, that was incredible.

As mentioned at conferences:

  • the ⅚ team will be holding an informational camping trip meeting (led by Mrs. Flaig) on March 21st at 6 pm in the Carson Building. This meeting is for parents to ask questions and get information about this year’s trip to Starved Rock State Park. Our camping trip will likely be May 16-18 (Wed-Fri). Paperwork will be sent home with students that week (hardcopy packet as well as digital copies emailed in the Tribune).

  • if you have not yet reported your child’s size for their school-provided Earth Week shirt, please let me know via email, or have your child let me know (prior to leaving for Spring Break). If you’re interested in buying additional shirts, you can find the order form here.

This week in social studies, students presented their rough draft speech for their Egyptian figure, and are wrapping up their studies by designing four trading cards of figures presented by their peers. In ELA, we collected data regarding grammar and figurative language background knowledge, as well as started current events again in ELA B and a new book in ELA A (Maniac Magee). ELA B will receive their copy of the book sometime next week.

Lastly, check out the flyer for the Green Team’s upcoming event: Growing and Cooking with Herbs. RSVP required.
