Sixth Grade Gazette 9/23/16

Dear parents,

It’s autumn here at PCCS, and we had another great week in our sixth grade class! In Social Studies, we have covered the interesting process of how a bill becomes a law, and will be moving onto the Presidential election process soon. Meanwhile in ELA, everyone is flying through Esperanza Rising. We are also beginning to learn new verbs and vocabulary with Mrs. McGeever in Spanish moving into next week, and are in our football unit in P.E.

Additionally, just as a friendly reminder to you and your children about our Google Chromebooks — since the year began, we have had five accident reports turned in because of damaged chromebooks. We ask that you encourage your children as much as you can to take care of their chromebooks. They are easily damaged, even just from dropping them.

On Saturday, September 24 from 9-11 am, the PCCS Green Team will be hosting their annual Green Apple Day of Service. Come help build storage benches that will serve as both learning spaces and equipment storage. We’d love your help! Sign up at https://www.signmeup.com/116460

Additionally, join Ms. Turner, Mrs. McGovern and Mrs. Meyer on September 28th at 6 pm for a book club to discuss designing a growth mindset at home. Click here to learn more!

Enjoy your weekend!

Ms. Turner and Mr. Hurwitz
