Yesterday and today in class the students have been measuring tape lines on the floor using 3 different measuring tools. The students have been using cutouts of basketball player feet, cutouts of baby feet, and craft sticks. Today we discussed their numbers and found out that when we measure 1 tape with each material the basketball player steps number will always be the smallest number because the measurement tool is the biggest. The baby feet are the smallest, so that number is always the largest. The craft stick measurement number should always be between the two. Tomorrow we will start doing some tape measurement assessments.
Today we also talked about telling time to the hour! Next week we’ll start talking about measuring time to the 1/2 hour as well.
