Let it Snow

After a cold, snowy week-end, I hope everyone is ready for another busy week at PCCS! We will keep up the holiday spirit this week with an all school Holiday Sing on Friday at 8:30. Please feel free to join us!
Thank you to the many parent volunteers who helped to make the Holiday Bazaar another success this year. The students chose some nice presents for their families, and I was impressed with the care and thoughtfulness they put into each selection. LIke the Holiday Bazaar, our Green Challenge this month to “Use Less Stuff” comes at a good time of the year. We can all consider giving our no longer needed toys or other “stuff” to someone else who may enjoy them by donating to a local charity.
In ELA this week we will continue working on our persuasive, “We Need a Snow Day,” essays just in case the administration should need a gentle nudge this winter 🙂 Spelling tests will be this Thursday, however, new words will not go home this week in anticipation of the Winter Break. In science, we are looking at the Taiga and Alpine biomes and studying how trees transport water, sugar, and nutrients through their trunks and leaves.
Please remember to send your child with winter gear this week so they can enjoy the snow while at recess!
