May had the 7th Grade going to Devil’s Lake and the 8th Grade on The Virginia Trip. I was lucky enough to go on each trip and learn first hand what the students experience at both places. For the 7th grade, it is the last camping trip at PCCS and they showed their skills all along the way. From just 2 years ago when they could barely get their tents out of the bag, to now, being able to set them up without adult assistance at all, to building a fire and cooking a meal with little coaching or assistance., these students have learned a lot. Plus, they can now play “kick-the-can.” They have learned well and now feel comfortable living in the outdoors….hopefully they will continue these traditions on their own and pass the love of the outdoors on to their families and friends.
