Design Green Challenge

On Tuesday, we had our February Green Challenge assembly.  This month, we are talking about green building design.  We all know that our buildings were designed with the environment in mind and that the Comstock is Gold Leed Certified.  But what does that mean?

Green building design is more than using environmentally friendly products.  We learned that a green building has better air quality and has less energy consumption.  It costs less to maintain, as well as helps conserve natural resources.  As students, more natural light in the classroom helps us focus more and become more efficient learners.  In addition to the actual buildings, green building design includes native landscape.

How do you think our school’s campus is good for the environment?
