We went on a walk this afternoon on the hunt for signs of spring! We found many leaf buds just forming and some even starting to open up! Our mourning doves have hatched and actually grown quite big. Mom left the nest this afternoon and I haven’t seen her back yet, so I’m anticipating some fledglings learning to fly tomorrow. It’s a very exciting and worrisome time for the students if they notice the birds down on the ground, so don’t be surprised to hear about it tomorrow if the babies do decide to try working their wings.
Our journal prompts today were to write about what would happen if Mr. Smith wore pajamas to school or to write about a favorite recess game. I got some funny stories about Mr. Smith as well as lots of great detailed descriptions of recess games.
