Classroom Update 1/22

Today in science the students worked in teams to make their 3 person phone prototypes! It was a fun and exciting lesson. Next time we do science, most likely Monday, we’ll test our prototypes with the decibel meters and clickers to see if they can deliver 80 decibels of sound. We ran out of fishing line (plastic string) while making prototypes, if you happen to have some  at home, could you send it in for us to use for making phones? We’ll return what ever we don’t use once we are done with this unit.

In reading we are starting a unit focusing on nonfiction text features. Today we glued a copy of our class poster, pictured below, to explain what nonfiction is. We talked about what bold print is. Each student has been asked to find an example of bold print in a nonfiction book that we will add to our nonfiction folders.
