I hope this email finds you well and that you have a wonderful weekend. The ABC Countdown began on Thursday. Please use this document as reference for daily themes.
Math A
Students justify the area formula for a right triangle by viewing the right triangle as part of a rectangle composed of two right triangles. Students find the area of shapes using specific formulas.
Math B
Students solve for unknown angles in word problems and in diagrams involving complementary and supplementary angles. Students also solve for unknown angles in word problems and in diagrams involving complementary, supplementary, vertical, and adjacent angles.
Science
Students study cell types including prokaryotic and eukaryotic. Students learn the make-up of a cell and their specific functions.
Field Trip
On Tuesday, May 31st, the 5/6th grade band is going canoeing at the Skokie Lagoons. Your student is bringing home a Canoe Trip Waiver Form that must be completed and returned with their payment no later than Tuesday, May 11th.
