Classroom News

Good Afternoon,
On Monday, January 24th and Wednesday, January 26th, we will have NWEA testing in the morning. Please help your student get a restful night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. Additionally, please make sure your student brings winter wear for outdoor recess and learning. Jackets, boots, snow pants, hats, and gloves are essential to stay warm when we are outside for EE and recess.
Math A
Students compare and interpret rational numbers’ order on the number line, making statements that relate the numbers’ location on the number line to their order.  Students apply their prerequisite knowledge of place value, decimals, and fractions to compare integers and other rational numbers.

Math B

Students examine the meaning of quarter circle and semicircle.  Students solve area and perimeter problems for regions made out of rectangles, quarter circles, semicircles, and circles, including solving for unknown lengths when the area or perimeter is given.

Science

Students began their study of our Oceans, identifying the 5 oceans and key terminology pertaining to oceans. Students learn that oceans have currents that contribute to weather patterns. Students will deepen their understanding of oceans in the coming weeks.
