Hello Families,
I hope this email finds you well. I enjoyed meeting with you all prior to our Thanksgiving break for conferences and truly appreciate your partnership in your child’s education. Our class did it again… positive behavior filled our class puff jar with 24 puffs. Students voted on their reward and the results are a movie/pj day on Monday.
Mrs. Canfield will be recording the 6th grade portion of the Winter Sing on Thursday, December 16th. Please mark your calendars and have your student dress up on this day for the performance.
Math A:
Students are working to find a common denominator among fraction equations. Students divide fractions by mixed numbers by first converting the mixed numbers into a fraction with a value larger than one. Students use equations to find quotients. Students use the skill *keep*change*flip* to divide fractions.
Math B:
Students began their study of Module 3: Expressions and Equations. They began with the properties of equality to solve one-step and two-step equations. Students used the distributive property to multiply or divide multi-term expressions. They identified like terms to combine them and simplify the expression into standard form.
Math C:
Students began their study of Module 3: Expressions and Equations. They began with the properties of equality to solve one-step and two-step equations. Students used the distributive property to multiply or divide multi-term expressions. They identified like terms to combine them and simplify the expression into standard form. Next week, students will use expressions, equations, and inequalities to solve problems.
Science:
Students are learning about tectonic plates, continental drift, and the theory of plate tectonics. Next week, students will use their ISN and teacher provided source to write a guided essay about the topic.
