Hello,
I hope you all had a fantastic week and enjoy your weekend. We will be taking the Fall NWEA tests for Math and ELA next week. Please make sure your student is well rested and has breakfast prior to testing. We will take the Math test on Monday, August 30th and the ELA test on Wednesday, September 1st. Please send your student to school with headphones on Monday. It is really important that they have headphones for the tests.
In addition, student pictures will take place on Tuesday, August 31st. Students have picture forms in their backpacks today. If your student is absent, they will receive their order form on Monday. Please return the forms by Tuesday morning with your student.
Science:
Students have worked incredibly hard testing The Scientific Method. It’s been awesome watching them work together, create and test a hypothesis, and record their results in report form. We will continue this into next week. Ask your student to share pictures with you on their Science google classroom.
Math A:
Students should practice their multiplication facts daily (0-12). We are currently learning about proportional and non-proportional ratios. Multiplication facts are essential and students. I recommend flashcards, IXL, and writing multiplication facts down as good methods of practice.
Math B:
Students are working on proportional and non-proportional equations and creating associated tables/graphs. This week, they created posters for a gallery walk that included a related story problem.
Have a fantastic weekend! I appreciate your support and partnership.
