Good Afternoon Wonderful Families!

I hope you’ve had a nice week and enjoy our long weekend. We will resume class on Tuesday, September 4th. It was a great week in the classroom. We were able to really dive into our studies and have some fun as well.
In Math, the Fourth graders are working on factor pairs, Composite and Prime Numbers, Factor Rainbows, and Arrays. Math homework will be assigned throughout the week. You may check your students assignment notebook and my classroom calendar found on the webpage for all homework assignments.
In Reading/Writing, students are working on using graphic organizers to gather thoughts and create writing pieces consisting of the information from the graphic organizer. So far we have covered informational and narrative writings. Students also continue to work on their reading skills and comprehension as well.
In Science/SS, we continue to work within our Prairie Units. Students are researching species and organisms from within the Prairie and drawing/writing about them for a grade band wide mural. After this, we will begin studying Wetlands and Woodlands.
We had our first Solo Spot at Prairie Smoke Pond this week. It was a great experience for all. I really enjoyed watching your student find their special spot and begin observing.
