Brain Research – How does it all work?

The 8th Grade has been reading the novella, “Flowers for Algernon.”  The story documents the life of Charlie, a man with a 68 I.Q. and his experiences as he undergoes experimental surgery in an attempt to make him smarter. As we were reading, the kids asked if this were true. Is this true? Can they do that? How does that work? What is I.Q.? How do we learn? Too many questions to answer …..so we decided to tackle these questions on our own.

Watch for their projects and presentations. Great dinner table topic.
