In 7th grade, the students begin a two year project called Culminating Project (CP) that is completed by the end of 8th grade. CP is a service learning project that allows students to pick an issue they’re passionate about and come up with a plan to try to make a positive impact. This project is a way to showcase their accomplishments as a PCCS student through a single project that incorporates many skills and content areas, including good communication, presentation skills, writing skills, time-management skills, problem-solving skills, and many others! The students are led through a few guided activities to help them identify community issues. They then conduct some research to find a “best fit” project – one that will allow for student leadership and that is achievable but holds a challenge for the students.
