Hello Families,
Happy Earth Day! I’ve created a slideshow to highlight some of the activities from your students 6th Grade Earth Week sent via email. Despite the weather rapidly changing from day to day, we had a fantastic week of learning and fun. On Thursday, we walked to the Prairie Wind Farm and learned more about food miles and expiration dates. We also were able to complete a service learning project, making popcorn by de-husking dried corn. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity from the farm. Each student was given an extra ear of corn to pop in the microwave using a brown paper bag at home. Today, students ended the week by performing their Earth Week plays for the other 6th grade class and writing “future letters” that they will receive during next year’s Earth Week.
Enjoy the slideshow and have a fantastic weekend! Thank you for your continued support and partnership!
