Hello Families,
I hope you’re having a great weekend. I encourage you to check the 6th grade homework calendar daily and reach out to me with any questions that you may have. I appreciate your support and partnership.
Science
Students continue to learn about changes over time through the study of evolution. Ms Naomi joined us for a bird beak simulation, teaching students about inherited traits and generational changes. This week, early hominids will be our focus.
Math A
Students continue to study ratio relationships and equations. Students model ratio relationships using double number lines and tables that model (x,y) relationships. We will continue to study these concepts this upcoming week. All students should be practicing their multiplication facts daily until mastery. On Monday, students will complete their study guide for our mid-module assessment and we will take the assessment on Wednesday, October 6th.
Math B
Students continue to study scale and scale factor. Students are able to create drawings based on a determined scale factor. Students also revisited the steps for dividing fractions. On Monday, students will complete their study guide for Module 1. The assessment will be on Wednesday, October 6th.
Math C
Students determined the scale factors between actual drawing, scale drawing 1, and scale drawing 2. Students designed a scale drawing of their ideal classroom. They completed Module 1 and took the End-of-Module Assessment. Next week, they will begin Module 2: Rational Numbers.
