Good afternoon!
Our class is currently exploring nonfiction writing, beginning some research on a topic of the student’s choice. Before they begin writing, they will be practicing note-taking as they read about their topic. A way we can gain experience in this is writing notes as we listen to nonfiction information. It challenges us to be concise as we list new facts we hear.
One way you can be involved is to share a favorite nonfiction book. As the book is read, students will be challenged to listen for new information and write down a few of the most interesting facts they learn. If you have a nonfiction book you’d like to read aloud to our class as a part of this exploration of a new skill, email me! We will be working on our research and completion of our projects throughout the next two weeks. Let us know if you are interested in joining us during that time.
Writing is from 12:30 – 1:00 PM.

When students have completed their nonfiction books, we will be sharing them with you!
