Wonder Vocabulary, Week 1

Today the class started diving into our new mini-vocabulary unit. These vocabulary words were selected from our read aloud book, Wonder. Students were put into groups of six, and each of them were asked to select 4 words from our master list. They were given half-sheet graphic organizers for each of these four words. After class time today and Monday, these organizers will be due Tuesday.

On Tuesday organizers will be checked-in, and students will receive feedback if necessary. Next, on Thursday, students will take turns leading their group members through note-taking on their 4 words, and taking notes on their peers’ words as well.

This rotation will conclude with students designing “Wanted: Vocabulary Acquisition” posters the week before winter break.
