Turner Tribune 8/25/17

Hello parents,

My name is Sam Hurwitz, and I am the instructional assistant in your child’s class. If you ever need assistance with anything regarding our class, please feel free to email me in addition to Ms. Turner.

This week, everyone performed their reader’s theatre plays and even got a few laughs out of the audience! They also received their chromebooks, started setting up their ELA notebooks, and finished guessing everyone’s artifact bags in Social Studies. Students should be coming home with their PARCC scores today.

Our team has two current needs. First, we could use a volunteer family or two to help out once or twice a month by washing our classroom table towels. The towels are used each day to clean after lunch and will need to be washed every couple weeks. Please respond to this email if you would be willing. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Second, the 6th graders are entering into an engineering unit and Mr. Hershiser is collecting second-hand or old bicycles to use. Bicycles that are broken or no longer work are wonderful as well. After students have finished learning from these bicycles, we hope to repair and then donate them to an organization so they can continue to be utilized.
