Turner Tribune 12/1/17

Greetings,

Everyone got right back into the swing of things after Thanksgiving Break! In ELA, students continued their biography report, completing their outline packets and beginning to write their report. We are also nearly halfway through our lastest read aloud book – Walk Two Moons. In Social Studies, we are in our Empires unit, with class periods full of cuneiform writing, task projects, and fate/decision scenarios that emulate the ancient times we are studying. In our specials, we have continued learning question words and verbs (Spanish) and started our basketball and fitness unit (P.E.).

We hope everyone found some awesome picks at the Book Fair during conferences.  For anyone still wanting to order books for your child through Scholastic, please enter our class code when you make your purchase: 1FFDY. This earns our class reward points to spend towards books!

It’s flyer-palooza, check out these upcoming events:

  • This Saturday, from 9 AM – 3 PM, PCCS is again hosting the Holiday Marketplace in the Nelson Gym. Attached is a flyer for the event.

  • A PCCS board member, Dan Fedor, is launching a Virtual Computer Coding Club for 5th-8th graders. There is no prior coding experience necessary, this club lets students work on their coding skills from home and learn at their own pace. An orientation/registration night is being held Tuesday, 12/12 at 7pm in Muir Hall. Students should bring their Chromebooks to the meeting. If your student cannot make the orientation night, students can still register for the club (registration link will be sent out the day after the orientation evening). If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering to assist, please contact dfedor@pccharterschool.org.

  • Click here for a flyer from the Green Team about their latest event, the second annual Owl Prowl on Dec 19th.

  • The Winter Sing is on Friday, 12/22 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the gym.
