Turner Times 3/15/19

Hello,

It has been an eventful week, in a variety of ways. Thank you to all who attended conferences; I am so proud of the work the 6th graders have been doing this year. They are such a pleasure to work with each day and are truly accomplishing great things. Next week we will be moving on to Greek/Latin roots in vocab, continue learning about Egyptian historical figures (by reading creative resumes students started designing this week) in social studies and introducing the conclusion to our dystopia unit in ELA.

In other news…while sizes for Earth Week shirts have already been collected (from the survey for Autism Awareness shirts earlier this year) I must ask you for more input because…there are color options for this year’s Earth Week shirt! Parents, please complete the Earth Week Shirt: Color Preference Form by Friday March 22nd. All shirts are short-sleeved and samples will be available in the office this week. Information about ordering additional shirts for family members will be coming soon.

Lastly, although third trimester has just begun, several students have more than one missing assignment already. Please take a few minutes this weekend to review Powerschool with your child and help ensure they are starting the final third of the year on the right foot.
