A new year means the start of a new unit for us in social studies. During our short week last week the students were introduced to the next project they will be working on for the next several weeks. We will be traveling around the world starting in North America/Central America. The students will be working in partners to complete a Visa note sheet to help guide their research on the country they have chosen. After becoming experts on that country, they will create the first entry of their travel log. In this travel log they will write as if they’ve actually visited this country. We will then move onto the next continent and repeat the process. At the end of the unit the students will present their trip around the world to the rest of the class.
