This week:

In ELA: students reviewed informational text structures, in preparation of our reading unit on biographies starting this Tuesday. We also studied the roots “audi” and “phon” as students completed week 2 in their Greek & Latin Roots packet.

In Social studies: students continued their studies of Ancient Mesopotamia by displaying their understanding of food and resources utilized throughout the Fertile Crescent. Next week, students will begin their city-state level task and a city layout design contest.

In Science: We wrapped up our Science choice projects and introduced our new Science Unit- Structure of Life! We started learning about Cell Theory and will be moving into topics like Characteristics of Organisms, Plant and Animal Cells, Genetics, and more.

In Math: In Math A, we continue to make progress and connections when dealing with integers (positive and negative whole numbers as well as zero). Math B is working through Expression properties.
