Sixth Grade Gazette 6/2/17

Dear parents,

Can you believe it’s the last week of the school year? Everyone has grown so much this year! On Tuesday, we went to the Skokie Lagoons for our canoeing trip. We began by canoeing in the morning, and then took a hike in the afternoon. The kids enjoyed themselves very much! Wednesday morning was Field Day for everyone in the Carson building! We were at four stations throughout the morning — kickball, softball, team handball, and Hungry, Hungry Hippos! Thursday was a day filled with a few fun activities (including cleaning the classroom!) — in the morning we met with Ms. Johnson’s class for book buddies one last time. Later in the day, we participated in a 5th/6th grade Capture The Flag game. The kids enjoyed playing very much! Lastly, we had our PBIS celebration on Friday, with a dance party, food, and a bouncy house!

In Social Studies and ELA, students completed their final assignments as sixth graders by reading up to chapter 14 of Omnivore’s Dilemma and finishing their consumer reports.
Please view this summer reading form from Mrs. Stewart. Each student is required to read one book and turn in a form along with it by Friday, August 18th.
