Sixth Grade Gazette 3/10/17

Dear parents,

Thank you to everyone who came to the student-led conferences. It is always a great opportunity to partner on supporting your child. If you have any future questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Meanwhile, in Social Studies, everyone has continued working on their fifth travel log (for an Asian country). Next week’s travel log on Australia will be their final one! In ELA, our read aloud book — Walk Two Moons — is getting interesting, and everyone has a very strong opinion about the book. In Science, Mrs. Neil has been teaching moon phases to everyone, and a packet was recently completed on the moon.

In our specials, everyone played team handball and ultimate frisbee (PE), had a lesson on violence in our media (Health), finished glazing their clay creations (Art), and performed the U.S. national anthem to the rest of the class (Music).

The Green Team is pleased to announce their upcoming workshop on Composting! At this workshop, participating families will make their own worm composting systems to take home! The workshop will be on April 13, 5:30-7 pm. Please read the attached flyer.
