Dear parents,
For this shortened week, sixth grade still got a lot done! In Social Studies, everyone began working on their second travel log, focusing on a South American country. Please make sure that your children are working on this over the weekend if it is not yet finished, and that it is submitted on Google Classroom when complete. In ELA, while our literature circle writing has mostly wrapped up, we are flying through our new read-aloud book — “Walk Two Moons.” In Science, Mrs. Neil has been explaining the reasons for the seasons. Feel free to ask your children about their drawing of a tree that includes all four seasons. In Math, some of Mr. Hershiser’s students have been working with tables, data, and have been making predictions using equations. In Mr. Barber’s math class, everyone has been working on some basic algebraic problems.
In our specials for the week, we had a great lesson from Mr. L on the dangers of alcohol (Health), enjoyed Hoops for Heart during today’s recess (PE), and began glazing our clay projects (Art — they all look very cool!). In other matters, everyone seemed to have a great time at Tuesday’s PBIS celebration and Valentine’s Day party!
