Sixth Grade Gazette 2/10/17

Dear parents,

It has been a busy week in sixth grade, and February still has much to come! In Social Studies, everyone has been working on their personal passports. Beginning with a North American country, students will be writing a travel log written as if they actually traveled to their researched country. Feel free to ask your children how it has been going! In ELA, students have been working on a creative writing piece — they are creating either an alternate ending or beginning of a sequel to their literature circle books.

In our specials, we have been starting hockey (PE), continuing our lesson on heart rate and the dangers of smoking (Health), and continued our perspective project (Art). Everyone also took a quiz today focusing on our six irregular verbs (Spanish).

We have three permission forms that are going around at the moment — Robert Crown Health Education Permission Form, PBIS Celebration Permission Form, and the Biodiversity Field Trip Permission Form. If you could please have these returned as soon as possible (if it has not been done already), that would be much appreciated!

For the 5/6 grade band’s Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart program, we still need parent volunteers. If you would be willing to help out in the gym on Thursday, 2/16 from 11:10 AM — 11:40 AM, please email jflinn@pccharterschool.org if you are interested or have any questions.
