Sixth Grade Gazette 1/20/17

Dear parents,

This week, sixth graders have been finishing up their national park presentation. Four presenters went today, and the rest of the class will present beginning next week. In ELA, everyone completed practice worksheets on close reading, to work on improving reading and comprehension strategies. In Science, everyone is continuing their study of different biomes. On Wednesday, they went outside to play a game to see how difficult it can be for animals to survive, and on Thursday they discussed tropical rain forests.

In our specials, we began our 18-week Health unit (every Friday from now until May, as a part of P.E.) and continued working on new Spanish terms to be used around the house and at parties.

Important Dates to Know:

January 23: School of Choice/School-wide spelling bee Assembly (8:15 AM — 9:45 AM)

January 25: Early Release (at 1 PM)

Have a great weekend!
