Sixth Grade Gazette 1/13/17

Dear parents,

It was a great week filled with a lot of new activities. Students have been working in pairs to create a report and presentation focused on a U.S. national park during Social Studies. They will begin presenting late next week, and their written reports are due Wednesday. In ELA, we have been working on argumentative writing — all students have been writing a paper arguing either for or against hoverboards being used in everyday life. They also have continued their literature circle discussions and readings.

In our specials, we have been starting basketball (P.E.), continuing our clay pinch pots (Art), and working on common phrase translations (Spanish).

Shout-out to Ashna for winning our class-wide spelling bee, and to Omar and Priyal for finishing 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Ashna and Omar will represent our class in the school-wide spelling bee on Monday, 1/23.
