First and foremost, a major *thank you* to everyone who volunteered to help make the 6th grader’s Primitive Day such a success on Tuesday: Mr. Hershiser, Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Naomi, Mr. Margeson, Mrs. Giron, Mrs. Halverson, Mrs. Shebley, Mr. Steggerda and Mrs. Sleasman. It would not have been the same without you! Special shout-out to Mr. Hershiser, Mrs. Anderson and Ms. Naomi for leading stations outside all day. Click here to see photos from our various stations – cave art, satchel-making, fire starting, spear throwing and archery.
In ELA students continued work on their literature circle final project; at this point, all students should have completed a paragraph about how their character changed over the course of the book, and started brainstorming potential artifacts for their character bag.
Lastly, many students (and staff) have been abuzz with the #TeamTrees initiative, started last week by Youtube creators Mr. Beast and Mark Roper. Their goal is to plant 20,000,000 trees by January 1, 2020 by partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation. The Foundation will plant a tree for every dollar donated to the cause; if your family is interested, visit https://teamtrees.org to donate.
