…It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s a glider being launched in math class?!? One of the experiments we are doing in math during this last unit is creating gliders and seeing how far they will go after we launch them. We have created two landing strips out of 200 Unifix cubes to help us measure how far these gliders can go.
The first few days of this module has seen us learning how to make the gliders, learning how to launch the gliders, and then measuring the distance of three different launches. We were then able to compare the different flights to see which one was the longest…and by how many cubes. During the rest of the module, we will be analyzing our data a bit more, and then doing the whole process again. It should be fun!
