It’s Almost Spring

With the sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures we’ve had, I’m beginning to think that the groundhog may have been right after all. I know we are all looking forward to spending more time outside again, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Thank you to all who attended Student Led conferences last week. Your students worked hard on their portfolios, and I enjoyed listening to the buzz in the room as they excitedly shared the highlights of their year thus far. We will continue to work hard in ELA this week with Literature Circles on Monday- we are currently on Session #4- and a spelling test on Tuesday for Disney, Squishy Bananas, Australian Hawks, and Yellow Submarine. After that, we will begin a unit on poetry that should carry us through the first half of April.
In social studies, we will continue our exploration of the United States with a quiz on the Mountain and Pacific Region this Friday. This will be our last region quiz. When we return from Spring Break, we will have a final test on the United States and then move into World Geography.
Mrs. Neil and Mr Stewart’s class had to re-schedule their trip to the farm last week due to wet, muddy conditions. This trip has been re-scheduled for this Friday, 3/22. Please be sure your student dresses for the weather since we will be walking to the farm. Thank you!
We hope to see you at the Parent Camping Meeting on Tuesday!
